Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has vowed to bring excitement and unforgettable memories to Tottenham fans after completing a high-profile move to Tottenham Hotspur from West Ham United.
The 24-year-old was officially unveiled as a Spurs player this week, signing a six-year deal that will keep him at the North London club until 2031. He returns to wearing his favoured No.20 jersey and is already promising to make every minute count at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“I like to entertain the fans. That’s what football is about, it’s putting a memory in the heads of the fans that they have when they go back home, after the money they’ve spent to buy a ticket,” Kudus said during his first official interview with the club.
Kudus arrives at Spurs following an electric two-year spell at West Ham, where his blend of dribbling flair, sharp movement, and explosive pace made him a fan favourite. He made 80 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers, scoring 19 goals and delivering several standout moments.
Despite his success in East London, Kudus says he’s ready for a new challenge and Tottenham was always his dream destination.
“There’s a lot of seriousness and competitiveness in the game,” he admitted. “But I still think it’s a sport I try to enjoy as much as I can and give the fans something to enjoy too. I hope fans are going to really enjoy what I’m going to bring to the team here.”
Kudus’ move reportedly worth £55 million marks a significant investment by Tottenham, who are seeking to build a dynamic new-look squad under manager Thomas Frank. Known for his versatility, Kudus can play across the midfield and front line, and is expected to add flair and creativity to the Spurs attack.
The Ghana international becomes the latest African star to light up the Premier League, and joins the ranks of elite players who’ve crossed the divide from West Ham to Spurs, including Jermain Defoe and Michael Carrick.
For Tottenham fans eager for silverware and swashbuckling football, Kudus’ arrival feels like a statement of intent. And for Kudus himself, it’s an opportunity to fulfil a personal ambition, not just to play at the top, but to leave a mark.
