I never endorsed NPP – Omane Boamah

Communications minister Edward Omane Boamah has accused the opposition New Patriotic Party of maliciously misrepresenting his speech at an NDC rally in Koforidua.

According to him, the video of him endorsing the NPP being circulated on social media is false and shameless.

The said video currently making waves on social media platforms has Mr. Omane Boamah urging an NDC crowd to vote for the elephant, symbol of the NPP, in the upcoming elections.

But in a statement, the presidential spokesperson said his address has been taken out of context.

“My words to effect that “we shall cast our ballots correctly even in the stronghold of the elephant” has been twisted and misreported,” the statement said.

Below are details of his rejoinder to the video

My attention has been drawn to a malicious publication following my address at the Eastern Regional rally at the Jackson Park in Koforidua on Saturday. The NPP has shamelessly sought to profit from same when they know very well their Presidential Candidate and Party remains unattractive, disunited, visionless hence is bound to lose the December 7 elections.

My words to effect that “we shall cast our ballots correctly even in the stronghold of the elephant” has been twisted and misreported.

For the avoidance of doubt, I urged our supporters in both our strongholds and else where to turn out in their numbers and vote for President John Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates. And also stated that voting for “All Die Be Die” will be a MISTAKE.

President Mahama has done a lot to deserve a second and final term. Let’s ensure a resounding victory for him and for his transformation agenda.
