“I made a mistake” – Boakye Djan

Major Boakye Djan (rtd) on Friday said his reference to Justice Kwame Afreh as one of the legal authorities the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) consulted widely on issues of criminal justice was wrong.

“Where Justice Afreh’s name was mentioned, I intended to refer to Justice A.N.E. Amissah, who actually served the AFRC as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice,” a statement he issued in Accra said.

Mr Justice Kwame Afreh, who was the Commissioner for Information, was never consulted on any legal matters.

“I am, therefore, taking the appropriate steps to have the error officially rectified. I take this opportunity to apologise to Mr Justice Afreh for any inconvenience caused to him personally, his family, friends and associates.”
