” I knew coup will fail” says prosecution’s witness

Lance-Corporal Cosmos Owusu, second prosecution witness in the case in which five persons are being tried for treason, today said he knew from the outset that the accused, who solicited his help to stage a coup, could not achieve their aim.

On further cross-examination by Counsel for the Second accused he snapped and said:

Witness: My Lord, I don’ t understand the question. This is book-long, I am book-short.

This attracted laughter from the bench, the bar and the gallery and the court asked Mr. Peter Ala Adjetey to ask the questions, which were in English, in an “A-B-C fashion for easy understanding”
