His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills has stated categorically that he haboursno intension to create confusion in the Ashanti Region to disenfranchise the people of the region during the 2012 general elections as published by the Daily Guide Newspaper.

President Mills debunkedthe diabolic allegation when he presented the 2012 State of the Nation Address in parliament yesterday.

In Daily Guide’s Thursday, 16 February, 2012 edition with the banner headline; Mills Secret Plan Out, the publication allegedthat President Mills intends to create confusion in the Ashanti region before, during and after the 2012 general elections. The president, however, stated that the information is false and pledgedpeaceful, fairand transparent elections for the good people Ghana.

The Daily Guide’spublication was one of such mis-information and misrepresentations designed to fit into the plan of their pay masters to whip up support in the region, the main stronghold of theNPP. The article alleged that President John Evans Atta Mills has commissioned a team of experts, tasked to devise ways and means to enable him win the coming electionsby hook or crook, targeting the Ashanti region forconfusion.

The paper, without proof also allegedthat the NDC’sstrategy is to cause artificial shortage of registration materials in the impending biometric voter registration, tocause anarchy and disturbances during registrationand unofficially reduce the number of days for the registration in the Ashanti Region. This media attack is intendedto halt President Mills’popularity in the strongholds of the NPP as a result of themassive developments the people are witnessing.
