I fought against powers and principalities – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has said he fought against powers and principalities to emerge victorious in the 2016 elections.

According to him, in spite of the enormous spiritual battles against his bid, he always remembered that “the battle is the Lord’s”.

Akufo-Addo beat the then sitting President John Mahama of the NDC, to become the 5TH President of the 4th Republic, making Mahama the first sitting president to be defeated in elections in the country.

Speaking at the Glorious Word Power Ministries – a church owned by one of his ardent religious leaders, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah – at Odorkor in Accra, Mr. Akufo-Addo said God played a key role in his victory in December 2016.

“In the just ended elections, we knew that we were fighting with powers and Principalities. In spite of this however, there was one thing that kept coming to me and that is the fact that the battle was the Lord’s. Going forward we all need to pray very hard that the change we all want will happen in our country,” he said.

The President went to the church to thank the prophet and also urge him to continue to pray for him as president in order to build a better Ghana.
