I doubt NPP will achieve their set targets – Asiedu Nketiah

General Secretary of opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has expressed a vote of no confidence once again in the incumbent government.

Speaking on JoyNews’ news programme The Pulse, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah stated that the NPP’s commencement to handling the affairs of the country leaves much to be desired.

“I wish them well but the way they have started, I have my doubts whether they’ll be able to achieve what they set off to achieve”, he told Gifty Andoh Appiah.

Earlier, the NDC General Secretary criticized President Akufo-Addo over the size of his cabinet. Several other minority members have taken swipes at the incumbent government on policies they say are unrealistic.

President Akufo-Addo released a list of 54 more ministers and deputies bringing the total number of ministerial appointees to 110, the highest number of cabinet members in a sitting government so far.

Sections of Social media have condemned the size of government, noting the president promised to protect the public purse but in a quick rebuttal, Information Minister Mustapha Hamid noted that this government did not promise a lean government.

He added that the size of the government will help the President to ‘pursue’ his development agenda.
