I don’t know St. John’s thugs – Accused student

The 15-year-old student who is accused of inviting thugs to attack her teacher at the St. John’s I and 2 primary schools at Accra New Town has denied the claims.

Aisha Adam was punished and sacked from class by her teacher for being unable to pronounce the word “entertainment” during a reading lesson.

She allegedly went home to call her brothers who came to beat up the teacher who punished her.

However, Aisha’s version of how events unfolded contradicts narrations by her schoolmates and teachers.

She told Starr News’ Josephine Asabea Akonor that she did not invite the knife-wielding men to the school but was rather forced by them to send them to the school after they met her.

“I was coming then I met the guys and they called me but I did not mind them. Later one of them asked me to explain what had happened at school or he will slap me, so I explained everything to them. Then they took me to the hospital for a checkup and from there I went home. So I don’t know what happened after I left for home,” she narrated.

She, however, pleaded with the school authorities to re-open the school since it has been shut down following the attack on the teacher.

Meanwhile, the headmistress of the school Grace Ama Richman has called for a relocation of the facility to ensure the safety of teachers and students.
