I don’t harbour land guards in my home – Gomoa Feteh Chief

The Chief of Gomoa Feteh in the Central Region, Nana Abor Yamoah has denied absconding from the town following a police manhunt for him, saying he’s done no wrong for which reason he should go into hiding.

There have been reports that the Police Anti-Land guards Team has launched a search for the chief after the retrieval of some weapons including a G-3 rifle cached in his home.

The Police Anti-Land guards Team stormed his residence on Saturday as part of a special operation in parts of the Central Region including Kasoa and its environs which has seen over 100 suspected criminals being arrested in the past four days. Six persons said to be the Chief’s bodyguards and some suspected land guards were arrested.

However speaking to the media on Monday, the Chief vehemently refuted the claims saying he has never haboured any land guards in his house, adding that the persons in his home are only his family members and security man.

“I’m a law abiding person and I have never had a brush with the law. Why will I habour land guards in my home and for what reason. It’s unfortunate that it’s been reported I’ve fled the area, that is not the case. I alternate between Accra and Gomoa Feteh doing legitimate business.”
