I don’t get Mahama’s hesitancy to concede – Nduom

Flagbearer of the Progressive people’s party Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has expressed his awe at Mahama’s reluctance to accept the obvious and concede defeat.

Speaking in an interview with Joynews, he noted, “What was happening was clear and I just don’t understand why some other people are refusing to recognize what we have here”.
Reacting to questions about his early concede. The PPP Flagbearer indicated that it was the honorary thing to do especially after all pointers indicated a defeat in the just ended polls.

He further stated that, it is important that all contestants in the race accept the ultimate outcome and ‘move on’ with their lives to ensure the country progresses.

“There is more to Ghana than elections, politics, and so on….the election is over, let go of who won and let’s build the nation”, he stated.

The PPP Flagbearer yesterday joined four other presidential candidates who took part in the December 7 elections to concede defeat and congratulate their fellow candidate Nana Akufo-Addo for “winning” the race although the Electoral Commission is yet to announce the certified results.

Ghanaians still await the official declaration of the election results by the Electoral Commission over 48 hours after the polls. Prior to that, many media outlets have projected Nana Akufo-Addo as the emerging victor in Wednesday’s polls.
