I don’t deal in drugs – Ken Agyapong dispels rumour

“As a poor son, my mother use to struggle for our upkeep and now by God’s Grace I have come this far in life. If I sell drugs now then my kind of uselessness or stupidity does not exist in Ghana…they need to severely give me some lashes for selling or dealing in drugs. What is intriguing about the story is that, they say FBI set him up, so if I am an accomplice of David Anim, how come I was not arrested when I went to America?…I just returned from America,” says Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, dismissing reports of his involvement in illicit drug trade because of the arrest of drug baron, David Anim.

The outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentarian however admitted that he is a close pal of the busted drug baron who gave out 100 motorbikes to the opposition party.

He also maintained that leading members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a senior Army Commander, currently serving under the present administration, are in bed with David Anim, stressing that the relationship has even been in existence since the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) era.

According to the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, he foresees the attempt by the pro-NDC newspapers, especially the Daily Post, to link him (Ken) and his party (NPP) to the arrested drug baron (David Anim) as a means to simply make publication sales out of him.

“You see, they are using my name to sell their newspapers…they need prominent people to sell their cheap newspapers. You will see the number of people who will buy their newspapers when they read about Ken Agyapong, they want to make money out of my name…but we don’t do business like that by running down other people. And with this evil intention, they won’t make any profit from trying to tarnish my name,” he stated on Okay Fm’s “Adeakye Abea” morning show.
