Tuobodom (B/A), June 24, GNA – Mr Isaac Adjei-Mensah, Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament, has debunked rumours that he had withdrawn from the race for the Techiman North Parliamentary seat because he was afraid of losing to Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) candidate.
The incumbent MP for the constituency told a meeting of NDC Executives and delegates at Tuobodom in the Techiman Municipality that he was not afraid of any NPP candidate and that he only wanted “to give way to the young ones to also contribute to our young democratisation process, since I have been to Parliament for three times”.
Mr Daniel Frempah Agoloso, Constituency Chairman, announced the names of the two candidates vying for the NDC slot to contest the constituency seat.
They are Mr Alex Kyeremeh, an Accounts Officer and Mr Moses Okrah, Tano District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).
Mr Adjei-Mensah, Minister of Works and Housing in the NDC Government, called on his supporters to rally behind the winning candidate to ensure a massive victory for the Party in Election 2004. Mr Osei Kwame, Constituency Youth Organizer, gave the assurance that supporters of the Party would rally behind the elected candidate to continue with the good works of Mr Adjei-Mensah.
