“I am the greatest loser of President Mills’ death”- Pupil

For close to 10 minutes, Master Richard Tsigri of the Adaklu-Waya E.P. Primary School was lost for words and wept when he stepped out to recount to a gathering of mourners how the late President John Evans Atta Mills gave him GH?2,000 on one occasion for his upkeep.

The 12-year old class five-pupil also narrated, in tears, how the late President promised to sponsor his education when he visited the area in June 2011 and heard that he had lost his mother in a flood.

Dressed in red top and green trousers, Master Tsigri wept uncontrollably occasionally asking who his next benefactor was going to be, having lost his father earlier.

Master Tsigri’s story drew tears from among the gathering of Chiefs and people as some of them wiped their faces with their handkerchiefs and cloths.

When Togbe Lablulu Tegbeza V of Adaklu-Waya, pleaded for State support for the boy, Mr. Michael Adzaho, District Chief Executive of Agortime-Ziope, said he had taken note of Master Tsigri’s situation.

Mr. Adzaho said the people of Adaklu must forever remember the late President for honouring his promise to create the Adaklu District.

He appealed to the people to pray for the Government under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and be peaceful and united for the rapid development of the area.

Mr. Francis Segbefia, assemblyman for the area, suggested that one of the buildings at the Adaklu District be named after the late President Mills.

The people earlier marched through the town amidst drumming and singing of dirges.**
