I am not NDP member – Spio

Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah a National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, has categorically stated that he remains a loyal member of the ruling party and is no way interested in partnering Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings for the presidency in December.

He has therefore issued a stern warning to persons speculating that he has accepted to partner Mrs. Rawlings on the National Democratic Party (NDC) ticket to desist from such acts.

There are media speculations that the former Attorney General, Martin Amidu and the Chief Executive Officer of Action Chapel, Dr. Spio Garbrah, are part of the list of persons being considered for the position of a running mate.

But speaking on an Accra based radio station on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the former NDC presidential aspirant, Kweku Ampah explained that Dr. Spio Garbrah will always remain an NDC member and has no plans of defecting to the newly formed NDP.

He said Dr. Spio Garbrah has always been an NDC member and will continue to be a member and will never leave the NDC.

A Deputy Communications Director of the NDP, Dr. Hilarius Abiu revealed that the flagbearer of the party is considering some individuals to partner her for the December polls.

He, however, clarified that the persons being considered may not include Mr. Amidu and Dr. Spio Garbrah.

According to him, the NDP will on Thursday announce the party’s running mate as well as file their nominations to enable them contest in the December elections.
