I am coming with vigor- Hassan Ayariga rescinds decision

The Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention, Hassan Ayariga has rescinded his earlier decision not to take part in the second Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) presidential debate slated for Tuesday, 20th November, 2012.

Speaking to Citi fm in Accra, Mr Ayariga revealed that his latest decision was informed by the stance adopted by the rest of the candidates to participate despite the death of former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama.

He explained: “If all the candidates do not believe in my opinion and all of them ignore Aliu Mahama and want to partake, then I will go myself and then I will tell them in their eyes that listen, we do not respect our leaders and we do not honour the nation…I will be there, if they don’t agree with me.

But if they agree with me then we should all cancel it and postpone it.”

Mr Ayariga’s decision not to participate in the upcoming debate attracted widespread criticisms from some ardent followers of the party who said the flag bearer’s intention will adversely affect the fortunes of the party in the December polls.
