Hunter kills colleague

Sampa Police has arrested a hunter, Kwabena Kuma for allegedly killing his friend and fellow hunter, Yaw Kusi, 35, at Gokka in the Jaman North District of Brong-Ahafo Region.

Speaking with the Ghana News Agency, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Robert Ayalingo, Regional Police Commander said the deceased and suspect had been friends for many years.

He said on Jan 19, someone reported to the Police that the body of Kusi, who hailed from Wamanafo in the Dormaa-East District, had been found with his gun lying beside him.

DCOP Ayalingo said when the police visited the crime scene several gunshot wounds were found on deceased’s arms and back and further investigations revealed that the deceased visited his friend Kuma before the incident happened.

The Regional Commander said all efforts by the Police to arrest Kuma proved futile initially but was later arrested at his hide out.

DCOP Ayalingo said the suspect admitted the offence but explained that it was accidental.

He said suspect would be arraigned after investigations.
