Hunter, 30, remanded for murder

Kuntanase (Ash), April 23, GNA – A magistrate’s court at Kuntanase presided over by Mr Adjei Frimpong, on Thursday remanded a 30-year-old hunter for murder.

Peter Amanor, who hails from Ningo-Prampram, now a farmer at Patrensa in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District, would re-appear on May 5.

Police Chief Inspector Edward Osei told the court that both the deceased, Yaw Boafo, a 31-year-old farmer from Esreso and Amanor went on a hunting expedition at Deduako in the night of April 17, this year. He said during the expedition the suspect mistakenly took Boafo for a game and shot him.

Realising that it was a human being he had shot, Amanor raised the alarm for help and some good Samaritans rushed to the scene to help convey Boafo to the Kuntanase Hospital.

He was later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
