Hundreds of people visit military installations

Sekondi, March 7, GNA – Scores of people, including students and pupils on Monday visited Takoradi Air Force Base, Western Naval Command at Sekondi and the Second Battalion of Infantry at Apremdo during the Ghana Armed Forces Open Day. The students included students from the University of Cape Coast and the University of Education at Winneba.

At the Western Naval Command the visitors were taken on board Ghana Naval vessels, GNS Yogaga, GNS Dzata, GNS Bonso and GNS Stephen Otu and shown the equipment and facilities and how they are used at sea. They were also taken to the Naval Dockyard and Naval Training School. At the Takoradi Air Force Base, visitors were treated to video shows o= n aviation and airplanes and briefed on the role of the Air Force and the Air Traffic Control. At Second Battlion of Infantry, there was display of armament and weapons, drill displays as well as fun games with other security agencies.
