Humanity Exchange Medical Team embark on outreach programme

Nkroful (W/R), Aug. 11, GNA – A 15-member medical team from the Canadian based Humanity Exchange Volunteer Programme has began a two-week medical programme in four communities in the Ellembelle District. The communities are Nkroful, Anwia, Salman and Teleku Bokazo.

Adamus Resources Limited, an Australian Gold Mining Company, is hosting the team and is providing logistic support for the programme. Ms Allison Fedorkow, Exchange Director of the Humanity Exchange Volunteer Programme, said the programme was to address the healthcare needs of people in the operational area of Adamus Resources Limited in the district.

She said the most common health concerns in the area were malaria, eye and skin infections and elephantiasis. Ms Fedorkow said the medical team would also be involved in public education.
