Hotels urged to give free condoms

Ms Hawa Yakubu, Minister of Tourism on Tuesday urged the hospitality Industry, especially hotels to provide free condoms to customers as a way of helping to curb the increasing incidence of HIV/ AIDS.

The provision of the free condoms would also help customers including tourists to take control of their lives under any situation, Ms Yakubu said during the outdooring of “Dyssy Studios”, an art gallery and floral shop at Teshie in Accra.

Dyssy Studios was borne out of the dream of a female sculptor, painter and florist to develop an environment where artists from all over the world would come and work and train.

She urged women to take up the challenge of educating men on the AIDS menace since women are more vulnerable because they are at the receiving end.

“Let’s not make the issue of AIDS scare people from our country, but rather fight to help eradicate it from our midst,” she said.
