Hospitals under attack over new ‘killer charges’

Hospital administrators across the country have come under severe criticisms over astronomical increases in fees and charges.

Some government hospitals have increased their charges between a Hundred and Five Hundred percent.

The fees for folders, consultations and surgeries have all shot up astronomically.

Some patients in Accra who reacted angrily to the new fees said the monies must be reduced or will lead to more deaths.

Some patients also said that the current charges will only compel them to self-medicate, which could have disastrous implications.

The new hospital charges come after some justice seekers and lawyers also vented their anger at recently increased legal charges.

The charges were approved by parliament under a Constitutional Instrument.
