Hospitals record 14 deliveries on Christmas day

Atibie (E/R), Dec. 26, GNA – The Nkawkaw Holy Family

Hospital and the Kwahu Government Hospital at Atibie recorded 14

deliveries on Christmas day. Eight babies made up of four boys and four girls were delivered

at the Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West

Municipality while five boys and a girl were delivered at the Kwahu

Government Hospital at Atibie in the Kwahu South District. One of the deliveries was through caesarean operation at the

Kwahu Government Hospital. Ms Catherine Abankwa, Midwifery Supervisor in charge of the

Labour Ward of the Kwahu Government hospital, told the GNA

that the absence of maternal mortality among the women was due to

the fact they attended antenatal clinics regularly. She appealed to pregnant women to take advantage of the

government’s free delivery programme to attend antenatal clinics

regularly to ensure safe delivery.
