Horner-Sam commissions streetlight project for Ebonloa

Ebonloa (W/R) July 31, GNA – Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Western Regional Minister, on Friday commissioned a street light project funded by the European Union and the Government of Ghana at Ebonloa near Half Assini.

The Deputy Minister, who was on a three-day visit to the Jomoro District, called on communities to re-kindle their communal spirit and support Government’s developmental efforts. She said this was another way through which communities could obtain further assistance from the Government to improve their standard of living.

Madam Horner-Sam advised the various communities to prioritise their needs so that the District Assembly could make provision for them in its annual budgets. She gave the assurance that the Government would continue to support communities that would initiate their own projects. Opanyin Paul Cobbinah, an elder of the community, appealed to the assembly to construct additional classrooms for the community Junior Secondary School and quarters for teachers. He also appealed to Government to provide potable water for the people and to rehabilitate roads in the area to facilitate economic activities.

Mr James Yankey, Assembly Member for the area, commended the people for contributing financially and providing communal labour towards the development of the town.
