Holiday makers with planned activities for Wednesday have been assured of their safety, as far as weather conditions are concerned.
They have also been urged to make provision for shelter, where they would have outdoor activities because whilst there may be some rain fall tomorrow, it would neither be widespread nor devastating.
Mr Michael Padi, Senior Meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Agency, Kotoka International Airport, said this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview.
The senior meteorologist stressed that no devastating or dangerous weather condition is expected on Republic Day but only average rainfall, which would not be widespread.
He said the weather would continue to be cloudy tonight with expected light rains along the coast and the extreme south of the country at dawn.
“In the early morning, misty and foggy conditions would form around the high ground areas of the Eastern, Volta, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions,” said the senior meteorologist.
He urged drivers and other motorists who would be moving in those areas at that time to be extra cautious.
“In the afternoon, we expect scattered thunder storms over the Eastern, Volta and Ashanti Regions. There would be rain fall, but it would not be widespread and they are also not expected to be heavy rains,” he said.
Touching on what the weather would be like after tomorrow, Mr Padi said cloudy weather conditions with rain showers would remain over the middle and inland sectors of the country, then towards the weekend, another widespread downpour would cover the country.
He said this rainfall would be intense over the middle and northern sectors, adding that the north would experience thunder storms in the course of the downpour.
