Hohoe Post Office is to be given a facelift

Hohoe, April 13, GNA – Mr Kofi Dua-Adonteng, the Managing Director of Ghana Postal Services, has said a financial deal has almost been clinched for work to start on the rehabilitation remodelling of the Hohoe Post Office.

The remodelling will entail Internet caf=E9, general post shop, fence wall, parking space, increased letterboxes and expanded offices. Mr Dua-Adonteng, speaking in a telephone interview with the Ghana News Agency at Hohoe on Wednesday, said 800 million cedis earmarked for the project in 2005 could not materialize due to unforeseen circumstances. He said a private financier in a build and transfer agreement would soon be granted legitimacy to commence work as management tries to fine-tune the terms of repayment.

Mr Dua-Adonteng said the Jasikan Post Office, which is billed for renovation, would also be included in the deal to give it a facelift. Mr Dua-Adonteng said he was optimistic that despite the challenges posed by the Internet and new technologies, the Ghana Post would braze the storm and maximize its fortunes.
