Hohoe-North MP appeals for calm

Mr. Prince-Jacob Hayibor, the Member of Parliament for Hohoe North, has appealed to the people of Gbi Traditional Area and members of the Muslim Community to exercise restraint in the conflict that had claimed lives and destruction of property.

He urged all the parties to be calm while the security apparatus handled the matter for justice to prevail.

Mr. Hayibor, who cut short his participation in an International Labour Organisation Conference in Geneva, told the GNA in an interview that the conflict was “grievous and unfortunate” and said it would have a lasting toll on the local economy.

He appealed for calm and said “There are no winners or losers in a situation like this.”

Mr. Hayibor appealed to the people not to lose confidence in the security agencies adding that they should support them to reach a peaceful settlement.

He expressed his sympathy to the bereaved families and those who lost property.**
