Hohoe, Aug. 9, GNA – The Hohoe Municipal Assembly has presented sporting kits to the Municipal Basic School team scheduled to participate in the Volta Regional Inter-Schools competition at Jasikan.
The items were made up of 18 pairs of football boots and hosts, 18 shin guards, 10 athletics spikes and 12 volleyball knee-caps.
Mr Victor-Hermann Condobrey, Municipal Chief Executive said the donation was in fulfillment of a request made by the Municipal Sports Development Council for sporting equipment, which was approved in their budget.
He was optimistic that the kits would bolster the team to win more laurels for themselves and the Municipality at the competition.
Mr Condobrey said government was committed to the development and promotion of sports and especially, the lesser known ones and not only for its entertaining but its health values.
Mr Joseph Christian Dzumador, Hohoe Municipal Sports Development Officer thanked the Chief Executive and the Assembly for granting their request and pledged that the gesture has whipped up their adrenalin to win all medals at the competition.
Meanwhile, Mr Joseph Z. Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe-South has donated a set of jerseys to the female contingent of the team.
