Hohoe Govt Hospital sources confirm three dead

Three out of four persons brought to the Hohoe Government Hospital with gunshot wounds have died, Mrs Patricia Azumatse, Matron of the Hospital told the GNA, on Tuesday.

They were Pascal Buta and Bright Buta from Gbi-Bla, and a man who could not be identified. Anthony Kumah Agbetsu, who was shot in the groin, is responding to treatment after surgery.

Mrs Azumatse said a policeman was treated and discharged for minor head injuries.

Some Muslims who sustained injuries have been taken to other health facilities other than the Hohoe Government Hospital.

When GNA visited the hospital on Tuesday, it noticed that security has been beefed up after a statement from the Hospital administration that personnel would lay down their tools following an attack on them by Muslim youth.

Muslim youth on Monday vandalized the Out-Patients’ Department and brutalized personnel claiming their negligence resulted in the death of a colleague.**
