Hohoe curfew reviewed

The dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Hohoe in the Volta Region has been relaxed. The curfew time now starts from 8pm to 5am.

The Ministry of Interior relaxed the time based on recommendation from the Volta Regional Security Council after a review meeting on Wednesday.

The Volta Regional Minister, Henry Ford Kamel, told Citifmonline.com that, “We made the recommendations to the Interior Minister and it was reviewed from 6pm to 6am to 8pm to 5am.”

The curfew was imposed after communal clashes between locals and Muslim youths that led to the death of three people.

The violence broke over the exhumation of the Hohoe Chief Imam leading to the destruction of the Palace of Torgbiga Gabusu, the paramount chief of the Gbi Traditional Area.**
