Hohoe branch of Barclays bank joins strike

Hohoe,(Volta Region) 15 Oct. ’98 Workers of the Hohoe branch of Barclays Bank yesterday joined their colleagues throughout the country on a sit down strike over their demand for the removal of a member of the management staff. The bank later opened for business.

A notice at the main entrance of the bank read: ”services being delayed, we are sorting issues out with the head office. Please we shall open later. Thank you.”

Some customers who went to do business returned disappointed after reading the notice.

They said they must not be made to suffer at the expense of the bank’s internal issues. GRi
