Ho University to be ready in 16 months – Mahama promises

Work on the Ho Campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences is expected to complete in 16 months.

This was disclosed by President John Mahama when he paid a two-day working visit to the construction site of the university.

The president said the late President John Mills’ ambition to build the university had materialised.

“We all know that a few years back, our beloved late President Prof Atta Mills visited the Volta Region, came to Ho and he came and cut the sod for work to start on this project. There was a delay in putting the funding together and there were many doom sayers who said it was all a gimmick. I am happy that today Prof Atta Mills is vindicated,” he said.

Having been briefed about the challenges, some of which related to funding, the president said he had instructed the Finance Minister to immediately release all funding for the project.

“Monies will be released for the project to be on track,” he promised. He said the roads, water and other infrastructure are being worked on.
