Ho Polytechnic to be upgraded into University

Ho, April 12, GNA- Professor Francis O. Kwami, Chairman of the Ho Polytechnic Council on Saturday said the Ho Polytechnic would soon be upgraded into a University.

He therefore, called on traditional authorities in the area to provide land for hostel and other facilities to accommodate students of the University.

Prof Kwami was addressing the Ho Asogli Youth Congress in Ho under the theme, “The Youth in Development of Asogli State”.

He said even though some assistance was coming from government and through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), the communities must complement the efforts by contributing to the provision of schools. Prof. Kwami said it was necessary to combine skill and technical expertise with science and technology in order to advance the country’s development.

Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Ho Asogli State said apart from the Evangelical Presbyterian Church’s programme to establish a University in the region, one other offer was the upgrading of the polytechnic. He urged all stakeholders to play their roles well for this objective to be achieved.
