Ho Police investigate death of hairdresser

Ho, May 5, GNA – Miss Cynthia Pomah, a 51-year-old hairdresser, was found dead at home in Ho on Tuesday with a two-inch deep cut on the left side of her throat, with a blood stained kitchen knife beside her.

The Ho Municipal Police Commander, Mr Samuel Owusu Berko, told the Ghana News Agency that the Police were investigating the circumstances of her death.

He said Police had been told that Miss Pomah had been undergoing treatment in the past 10 years for a mental disorder. Mr Owusu-Berko said at about 1220hrs on that day, the Police received a report from Mr Daniel Gasinu, a 56-year-old contractor and husband of Miss Pomah, about her death.

Mr Owusu-Berko said Mr Gasinu told the police that when he went down stairs from their upstairs bedroom to open the main door to let in his son whom he had sent to the Bank for some transactions, he found the door to the kitchen ajar and found the wife’s dead body. Mr Owusu-Berko said when the police moved to the scene, they found a blood-stained kitchen knife by Pomah, who lay on the left side of her body.

A further examination on the body revealed a deep cut on the left side of her throat, he said.
