The Police in Ho in the early hours of Monday intercepted a Septic Tank at the outskirts of Ho on the Ho-Aflao highway stuffed with dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.

Mr James Kofi Abraham, Detective Chief Superintendent of Police at the Regional Police Command, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Tuesday that the haul was a total of 2,096 slabs compressed in 40 maxi-size jute bags.

Kwabena Owusu, 30, and Yaw Baffo, 20, brothers as driver and spare driver respectively, on the septic tank with registration number GT 598-J are in custody.

Mr Abraham said the two told the Police they were from Achimota in Accra and had been called by one “Efo” to transport the dried leaves from Dzemeni, in the South-Dayi District to Aflao.

He said Police upon information intercepted the vehicle at Mile 48 at about 0230 hours Monday dawn.

Mr Abraham said it took some time to unfasten the bolts of the clamps securing the hollow meant for excreta, where the suspected illegal baggage was heaped.
