Ho Diocese of Catholic Church to have world class Cathedral

Ho, Aug. 10, GNA – The Ho Diocese of the Catholic Church is to have a 2,000 capacity Cathedral by 2011.

The curtain-walled pinnacle edifice under construction on the premises of the Sacred Heart Church at Ho Bankoe would overlook the Ho municipality and be a major tourist attraction.

The Cathedral, expected to cost one million dollars “will serve as a welcoming place for everybody who wants to seek the face of God”, Monsignor Anthony Kornu, Vicar General and Administrator of the project, told the Ghana News Agency at a fundraising in aid of the project.

“It (the Cathedral) is purposely designed with an underground compartment for perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament,” he said.

Monsignor Kornu said the Cathedral with its architectural designs would be of tourist and spiritual significance.

Most Reverend Francis A.K Lodonu, Catholic Bishop of Ho appealed to benevolent organizations and individuals to support the project financially.
