Hit-and-run truck crushes bike rider to death

The Hohoe Police have stepped up investigations towards the arrest of a hit-and-run truck driver suspected to be working for the Volta Forest Products, a plywood manufacturing company in Hohoe.

According to Mr Joseph Gyawu, Hohoe Divisional Police Commander, the deceased Alex Atando Asiedu, 45, was crushed beyond recognition when the timber truck allegedly ran over him at about 1900 hours, on Monday.

He said the deceased was riding a bicycle on the Akpafu Odomi section of the Hohoe-Jasikan Road when the incident occurred.

His body has been deposited at the morgue in Hohoe.
