Hijab traps 55-year-old woman to her death at Drobonso

A 55-year mother of 8 Mariama Musah yesterday June 1, 2017 met her untimely death after her veil commonly referred to as Hijab trapped in the spokes of a moving motorbike dragged her to the floor killing her instantly at Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti Region

A former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Afram Plains Donkor Fuseini, disclosed to mynewsgh.com that the deceased was a pillion rider on a motorbike with her husband who is the Chief Imam of the area from the market when the incident happened.

“They were returning from the market after shopping to break their fast and some few meters away from their home close to the police station, her lose veil (Hijab) entered the spokes of the motorbike which trapped her and dragged her to the floor.

Some Residents had to cut parts of the motorbike before they managed to rescue her. She was rushed to the Kumawu hospital but pronounced dead on arrival”, he revealed.

She has since been buried in accordance with the Islamic custom.
