High Commission in SA donates to Black Stars

The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has donated food items to the Black Stars to boost their preparation for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.

The donation was made by Mrs Martha Pobee, the Acting Head of Mission, on Tuesday just before the Black Stars went for training in Johannesburg.

She was accompanied by several officials of the High Commission including Mr. Lawrence Azumah when they made the donation to the players.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan who received the items on behalf of the team was delighted over the commitment the High Commission officials towards the national team.

“We thank you for everything you have done for us since we arrived he on Saturday,” Gyan said when he received the donation.

“You were around to help the team when we arrived at the airport and have been since helpful to the team. To bring food items too as well shows that you really care about us.

“We thank you very much and we want to assure you that we will get the victory against Lesotho to make the people of Ghana happy.”

Ghana FA chief Kwesi Nyantakyi also hailed the High Commission in South Africa for the assistance they have been giving the Black Stars over the years.

“This is not the first time you have been assisting the team. Anytime we come here you have something special for us.” Nyantakyi told the High Commission officials.
