High cholesterol levels leads to heart or kidney failure

Food prepared from okro, garden eggs, fish and other edible aquatic creatures could help reduce high cholesterol levels in men.

This was disclosed by Dr Elikem Ametepe of the Koforidua Regional Hospital when he delivered a talk on “High Cholesterol Level and its Effect on men,” organized by the Adweso Calvary Men’s Fellowship near Koforidua.

He urged men to take in soya beans milk instead of milk from cow or other animals, eat more fresh fruits, and exercise regularly to help control their cholesterol levels.

Dr Ametepe explained that high cholesterol levels could lead to heart or kidney failure and stroke, and advised the participants to avoid skipping their meals.

He urged the participants to reduce the consumption of pies, rock bans and saturated fats like margarine and butter, and to control stress to help reduce high cholesterol in their body with its associated negative health implications.
