Helicopter saga: Mahama performing dual role – NDC

Former National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, says the President is performing dual duties and that there was nothing wrong with his use of helicopter as means of transportation to the Eastern Region.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Yaw Boateng Gyan mentioned that the President is currently the flagbearer of the NDC as well as the sitting President of the Republic of Ghana. He stated that it is prudent for him to use such means of transportation to ensure easy movement of the President.

“I do not know why the opposition party wants to ride on the president’s use of helicopter, they did more than this during their administration,” he opined.

However, former General Secretary of the NPP, Kojo Owusu Afriyie (Sir John) stated that the NDC’s abuse of incumbency has gotten out of hands.

He added that the president claims to have constructed the best of roads so the use of the helicopter was needless.

“The President can use all the resources available to him, he will still lose. Ghanaians want change”, he said.
