Ahentia (C/R), June 5, GNA- A continued heavy downpour that occurred in parts of Awutu-Effutu-Senya district on Sunday has caused River Gyei on the Awutu Beraku-Bontrase road to overflow its banks to flood the main road.
This has created a transportation problem and from Awutu Bontrase to Awutu Beraku. Mr. Daniel Asomani, Assemblyman for Bontrase-Nfedwene area and the first Trustee of the Bontrase Branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union of the TUC, Supi Kojo Duakwa told the Ghana News Agency that the situation had compelled drivers in the area to park their vehicles.
They therefore, appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to ensure that rehabilitation work on the road resumed as early as possible for the construction to expand the bridge on the river to forestall future occurrence of the such incidence.
