Heavy Police presence in Akuse as rival youth clash

There is heavy Police presence in Akuse as the Youth of Manya Krobo take to the streets in protest of an attack on a group of traditional priests from Manya Krobo dispatched to perform some pre traditional rites for a victory celebration at Akuse Saturday morning.

A resident Henking Kojo Adjase speaking to XYZ News said some unidentified men attacked the traditional priests leaving one of them injured while the vehicle they were using was also smashed.

This infuriated the youth who suspect the attackers are from rival district Shai Osu Doku.

The two districts have been in a long standing boundary dispute over the ownership of Akuse with a recent Supreme Court verdict declaring that Akuse falls under Lower Manya Krobo district.

Henking added that the protests may disrupt the victory celebration following the verdict.**
