Heavy downpour renders 20 people homeless at Twifo-Nyinase

Twifo-Nyinase (C/R) Sept 27 GNA- Floods had destroyed property worth millions of cedis and rendered 20 people homeless at Twifo-Nyinase in the Central Region.

The local office of the Quality Control Division of the COCOBOD, a depot of the Akuapa Cocoa Buying Agency, and a number of houses have been submerged by the floods, that followed four days of rain.

Nana Ayensu Danquah II, Twafohene of the town, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, attributed the cause of the disaster to the poor drainage system and appealed to the Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira District Assembly, to improve upon the facility.

The District Chief executive, Mr Abraham Odoom has visited the town to console with the victims, who are being accommodated by friends and relatives.
