Health service providers to assume a proactive stance in the GHIS

Kenyasi (B/A) Feb. 10 GNA – Dr Peter Asare, Asutifi District Director of Health Services, has observed that the institution of the national health insurance scheme demanded that health service providers assume a more pro-active stance for effective and efficient delivery. He noted that health service providers needed to be patient-friendly by accepting all challenges that confronted them in the discharge of their duties.

Dr. Asare was speaking at the launch of this year’s Health Service Week in the district at Kenyasi under the theme, “Eat Well, Stay Healthy and Live Longer”.

He also enjoined parents who visit the health facilities to cooperate with the staff in their bid to access quality health care. Dr. Asare gave assurance that the Ghana Health Service would not relent in working towards the achievement of its mission statement, adding that the scheme would enable the public to assess the performance of health service providers.

Miss Alice Vorleto, Public Service Nurse, asked people to ensure balanced diet for healthy growth and the avoidance of food related deficiencies.
