Health personnel attend maintenance course

Akpafu-Mempeasem, Jan. 16, GNA – Thirty-Nine hospital staff including 17 maintenance personnel of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the Volta Region have completed the 11th “Preventive Maintenance Training Course” at Akpafu-Mempeasem, in the Hohoe District.

The 10-day course organised by the Regional Estate Department of the Service was under the theme “Let Us Maintain Our Health Facilities.” Participants were from the Hohoe, Kete-Krachi, Kpando, Jasikan and Ho districts.

Briefing newsmen, Mr Sampson Adibo, Regional Estate Manger of the Service, said the main objective of the course was to ensure constant maintenance of health facilities in the region to promote health delivery.

He said the participants had the opportunity to rehabilitate the Akpafu-Mepeasem Health Centre, which had not undergone any renovation since its construction 21 years ago.

Mr Lawrence Atri, Assembly Member for the area said the Centre, which served five communities lacked enough staff and had no means of transport to carry out its operations. 16 Jan. 04
