Health Minister orders reinstatement of Korle Bu’s Offei-Palm

Minister of Health Kwaku Agyemang Manu has ordered management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to reinstate, with immediate effect, Dr Charles Offei-Palm, the President of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA).

Dr Offei-Palm was interdicted last year for bringing the name of the Hospital into disrepute, following an interview on an Accra-based radio station. His interdiction did not go down well with members of KOSSA, whose demonstration did not get management to rescind its decision.

Not even a court ruling last week could get management to budge an inch. But on Friday, 3FM’s Sarah Parku reports, Mr Agyemang Manu intervened and ordered Dr Offei-Palm to be reinstated with immediate effect. As per his interdiction, Dr Offei-Palm has had his salary halved while he has forfeited allowances, as punishment.
