Health Insurance Scheme sign MOU with Breman Asikuma Catholic Hospital

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Aug. 17, GNA – The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Breman Asikuma Catholic Hospital and other health institutions to pave the way for the scheme to pay for healthcare services from September 1, 2005.

The Central Region Executive Secretary for the Catholic Archdiocesan Health Services, Mr John Afful, signed for and on behalf of the Catholic Hospital, Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Asikuma while the Reverend Patrick Omenako Nyampong, Chairman of the District Health Insurance Scheme signed for the Scheme The others who signed the MOU included Sister Luisa Ruperez of Breman Asikuma Catholic Hospital; Dr Amoussou Gohongo, District Director for Health Services and Mr Akwasi Asmah Asiedu, District Magistrate for Breman Asikuma.

The rest were Mrs Elizabeth Asare for Brakwa Health Post, Mr Joseph K. Annan, Odoben Health Post; Miss Henrietta Hammond, Bedum Community Clinic; Miss Cecilia Mansah, Amanfopong Community Clinic and Miss Elizabeth Ennim, Anhwiam Community Clinic.

The Scheme Manager, Mr Eric Owusu, who is also the Secretary to the Board of Governors of the Scheme, thanked the parties for the signing the memorandum for the scheme to take off in the District.
