Health Insurance clients asked to take educational programmes seriously

Mr. Mohamudu Seidu Abugri, Manager for Bawku Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, at the weekend advised clients to take the scheme’s education programmes seriously, so that they could be conversant with its polices.

He lamented that the scheme had undertaken several educational programmes in the area, but clients continued to commit same mistakes, which had caused the scheme a lot of resources.

Mr. Abuguri said that clients repeatedly delayed in the renewal of their insurance cards and failed to collect cards from health centres early.

He said they also did not pay attention to educational programmes on the gatekeeper system, payment of process and premium fee, waiting period, waiver waiting period for children under five and pregnant women, and awareness of the National Health Insurance caller center.

Mr. Abugri said community durbars would be organised to educate the people on operations of the scheme.

The Public Relation Officer of the Bawku scheme, Mr. Asaana Salifu Moro, said that despite challengers, the scheme had been able to implement about 70 per cent of its activities 2012 programme.

He appealed for additional vehicle to support the outreach programme of the scheme.
