Kumasi, Aug. 12, GNA – Dr Kofi Asare, Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services, on Tuesday appealed to health-training institutions to review their curricula to include the proper management of childhood illnesses.
He said such a review would predispose graduates of health institutions to the task of reducing child morbidity and mortality. Dr Asare was addressing the closing session of a two-week workshop on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness Cases in Kumasi. The workshop, designed to expose the participants to course modules, was attended by heads and tutors in health training institutions from all over the country.
It was organised by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Dr Asare expressed satisfaction with the performance of the participants and urged them to impart what they had learnt to the students they teach in order to facilitate effective child health care delivery.
Dr Kyei Fareed, Deputy Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services, appealed to the participants to constantly upgrade their knowledge and skills in order to impact positively on their students. 12 Aug. 03
