Healing comes from God not man – Bishop Heward-Mills

Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Presiding Bishop of Light House Chapel International, on Sunday reminded Christians that healing comes only from God and not humankind.

He said, “Man has no power. He is only a vessel of God. Miracles come only from God.”

Bishop Heward-Mills, made the acknowledgement at a special miracle service at the Bread of Life Cathedral of the Church in Accra.

Delivering the sermon on the theme: “Jesus Christ, The Same Yesterday, Today and Forever,” he said it was unfortunate that some people did not believe in miracles because they had found none.

“The miracles performed by Jesus Christ were and are still happening in every aspect of life. It is however not possible to know why some were healed while others did not. God works in mysterious ways, and it is not for man to judge the ways of God,” said Bishop Heward-Mills.

He asked Christians to appreciate the fact that Jesus Christ was the same today as when he was on earth.

Bishop Heward-Mills said Christianity was not all about prosperity, but about serving God, obeying his commandments and obeying his will.

“God could decide to bless you with riches, but in serving God, you have to be dedicated and sincere, and you should not at all have material prosperity at the back of your minds. You should rather thirst and crave for doing the will of God,” he said.

Bishop Heward-Mills urged Christians to have faith in God, do away with fear and stressed that “Fear is only a tool of the devil. A Christian should always be filled with faith and courage.”

He asked Christians to trust in the Lord and realise that Jesus Christ had the ability to heal any bad situation.

The Church has over 1,000 branches in more than 52 countries across the world.**
